Krusin Coffee Table

Store Closing - Sorry, Orders Cannot Be Placed At This Time
Glass & Veneer Top: 5 - 6 weeks | Marble Top: 5 - 18 weeks

Drawing inspiration from traditional designs, but asserting itself with an industrialized craft aesthetic, the Krusin Table complements the Krusin Lounge and Side Chairs. Like the chairs, the tables leave no joint unresolved and no angle unconsidered, resulting in a subtle elegance that harmonizes with any setting.

Marc Krusin: “The tables were part of the same development as the chairs. The chairs really inspired them in a way, inspired the detailing within that cube. The main structure is all being made in the USA, by a great bunch of guys who were so flexible throughout the whole design process — so fast and extremely talented. They were always available to make all the petty modifications that, between myself and Bejamin Pardo, the Design Direction, were thrown at them.

“Personally I would always try to strive for something that is clean, that is visually silent, to study and rework, and tweak the proportions and the details to such a refined level that it becomes as perfect as it can be within that framework.

“I see it as being a design that can fit into a lot of scenarios. To me, there is something very noble about an object that sits within a space not shouting for your attention, but blending into it. The outcome is absolutely contemporary, but at the same time absolutely classic and absolutely timeless.”

Marc Krusin is steadily making a name for himself as one of the most promising and exciting young designers in the industry. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in furniture design, Krusin founded the Milan-based group Codice 31 with five other designers. Krusin is also the Design Manager at Piero Lissoni’s office where he is responsible for a client list that includes Alessi, Thonet, Flos, and Knoll. Additionally, Krusin has established his own firm Klay, and was honored in the Europe 40 under 40, an annual program that celebrates the best young European designers.

In 2006 Knoll International introduced wa, a brilliantly simple office system designed by Marc Krusin and Piero Lissoni. wa’s defining feature, a patented 360 degree clip mechanism, allows any component to be attached to any workstation, on any side. There are no predetermined connection points.

Marc Krusin collaborated with Knoll again to introduce the Krusin Guest Seating and Table Collection, elegant wooden designs with an industrialized craft aesthetic. The chair design was awarded the 2011 GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design.

Care & Maintenance

With proper care, your KnollStudio furniture should last for years to come. To help ensure the longevity of your purchase, below are helpful hints on routine cleaning for your KnollStudio piece. Most basic maintenance can be performed with common household cleaning products.

Clean with a commercial brand of liquid furniture polish twice a month. For stubborn dirt or light scratches, rub lightly with very fine steel wool before using furniture polish. To rejuvenate luster, apply a furniture cream as a last step. Do not use water or household solvents: they will destroy the protective finish.

Marble with Polyester Coating (polished coated)

Wash with lukewarm water. Wash more thoroughly with Windex, Fantastik, Ivory Flakes in warm water, or other non-abrasive solutions. Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.

Natural Marbles/Marbles without Polyester Coating (satin coated)

Cleaning: Wipe off stains and liquid spills immediately with water and soft cloth. Never use steel wool or other abrasives on marble.

Maintenance: The mineral surface of marble is very porous and easily absorbs moisture and fluids causing corrosion, staining and discoloring. If applied on a yearly basis, impregnators or penetrating sealers protect the interior of the stone, inhibit discoloration and allow the stone to breathe and release water vapor. To restore a uniform luster, clean
surface from any grit or debris, then remove all topical coatings with Stoneguard Stripper. Use Marbalex to rinse surface, then let top dry for twelve hours before applying stone impregnator. Apply SCI Impregnator using a clean and dry applicator brush. After five minutes, wipe off the excess with soft, white terry cloth. If impregnator is absorbed within five minutes apply second coat at least twelve hours later. Never use steel wool or other abrasives on marble.

Glass/Acrylic Polycarbonate

Clean with Windex, Fantastik or other non-abrasive cleaning solutions. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
